What HDMI video converters do

HDMI video converters bridge between HDMI and other video signal types. HDMI has improved audio and video performance, capacity, resolution, and color spaces enormously since its introduction, making it the clear choice for many components and modern displays. But analog signal types (composite, component, S-Video, VGA) and other digital formats (DVI, SDI, DisplayPort) are still widely used in legacy and specialty equipment. For HDMI gear to work with these other formats, a converter is needed.

Conversion directions

HDMI converters work in both directions.
